The 98th Annual Memorial Day Celebration

Parade steps off at 9:30 am

Ceremony at Memorial Park at 11:00 am (Chestnut St. & Fremont St.)

Some great things to know…

Applications to March in the Memorial Day Parade have gone out.  If you need an application, send an email to Greg Padovani.

Grand Marshal for this year’s Parade is Rear Admiral Stephen Evans, Commander Naval Service Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.

Honor Flag Unit sponsored by Glueckert Funeral Home will march again.  To honor ANY veteran past or present, please use the form.

Thank You Veterans signs from the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce will be handed out along the parade route just before the parade starts.  Make sure you get one of these signs and hold it up when you see our veterans or active duty troops march by.  Yelling “THANK YOU” or “WELCOME HOME”  will mean so much to them!

Something special…LCPL Cody Evans and SGT Jason Smith will join us in the parade and ceremony!

Two of our Nation’s soldiers were severely wounded by IEDs in Afghanistan.  US Army Veteran Jason Smith and USMC Veteran Cody Evans both were in need of homes to accommodate their special needs.

Honor our Fallen Heroes at the Memorial Day Ceremony – the true purpose of Memorial Day

Please join us at Memorial Park (Chestnut & Fremont Streets) to honor all those who have given their lives for our Nation.

The Ceremony begins at 11:00 am and will include:

  • Reading the names of area veterans who have passed away in the last 12 months.

  • Honoring Arlington’s Fallen Heroes - Reading the names of the 58 young men from our town who died in the service of our Nation – from the Civil War to Afghanistan.

  • Annual “Remembering Our Veterans” photo – after the Ceremony. All veterans invited
